BERNSTEIN AG looks back on an eventful past that is directly linked to Germany’s most recent history.

During the Weimar era the Bernstein brothers founded a company in Leipzig that manufactured products for small power for electrical building services management systems. After the war Hans Bernstein, the father of the current Chairman of the supervisory board, took up residence in the West.

In Porta Westfalica he founded a one-man operation that grew to become the family-owned enterprise BERNSTEIN.

The company soon made a name for itself as a manufacturer and distributor of electromechanical components for signal acquisition and pre-processing.

In the course of the company’s history BERNSTEIN has been closely involved in all of the most important technological developments to today’s industrial safety technology.

Hans-Joachim Bernstein, the son of Hans Bernstein, has shaped the success story of the company significantly and has joined the Supervisory Board. He joins fellow Supervisory Board members, Günter Gieseking – who has been our Manager of Finance and Accounting for many years – and Alexander Lange, as the Chairperson of the Supervisory Body. As an experienced consultant he also supports the Board of Executive Directors, consisting of Gisela Bernstein and Klaus Wehmeyer.
